In the last few weeks we have worked diligently to update our documentation "shots in the Wolfsheide", which is now on 18.11 at 13:15 p.m. in MDR.

Under the heading "Animals in Focus", the Central German Broadcasting again the In One Media production by director Stephan Heise.

In July 2015 a dead Wolfsrüde was discovered near Görlitz. He was shot and visibly placed on a roadside. The fifth specifically killed Wolf within a year and a half. Two of them were beheaded and provocative: once at a natural shield in the Lausitz. It acts like a demonstration of power. The crime scene actor and committed conservationist Andreas Hoppe is searching for clues in a real crime story together with a species protection expert. In addition, the team travelled not only through Germany but also in Romania. Most of the Wolves of Germany live in the Lausitz, here are also most of the crime scenes of the wolf killings from the last years. In addition to targeted killings, road accidents are also a frequent cause of death. However, even in these animals, some old Monitionsrückstände are found, which prove that they have been under fire. The topic has recently gained additional explosiveness, since 2017 more sheep were torn by wolves and as a result many shepherds and hunting associations have pronounced for a controlled launch. At the same time, animal and nature conservationists vehemently oppose the hunt for Wolves.

Already 2016 appeared our first version of the documentation. Since then, things have changed. More wolves were killed illegally. Since 2000, there are now a total of 63 dead wolves. In the meantime, the WWF has set up an anonymous reporting centre for references to Wolf killings, in order to drive the investigation independently. The new recordings show a renewed visit to the fair in Leipzig with a hidden camera and other expert among others in the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History in Görlitz.

By the way, in addition to "Schüsse in der Wolfsheide", our short film "Aussicht" will also be shown this weekend. We are pleased that our productions find their way into the television programme every now and then. All further news about the documentary will of course be published here under our News Section or on our Facebook Channel.
