Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research
D 2017
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, these nine-and five-minute image films were produced. The longer of the two films shows the history of the UFZ, which began after the turn in Leipzig. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, 1989 was quickly recognized as a necessity to build environmental research in the new federal states. The founding director Professor Peter Fritz, together with his colleagues at the time, tells the history of the Institute, which is located in the Permoserstraße in the buildings of the former Academy of Sciences of the GDR.
The second film gives an insight into the various research areas and fields of activity at the UFZ and allows some deputies of more than 1000 employees to speak.
