Our production "The Presidents' Tailor - From Auschwitz to the White House", together with director and co-producer Rich Minnich (Our Man in Berlin) will be shown on 25.10. at the DOK Preview of the DOK Leipzig . The event will be held for invited guests in the Contemporary History Forum in Leipzig and shows productions that are still in progress, freshly completed films as well as world premieres from the DOK Leipzig Competition.

After we had already worked together with author Peter-Hugo Scholz and director Rick Minnich in 2018 as part of the MDR format Lebensläufe about Martin Greenfield, we were captivated by the moving story of the Holocaust survivor. Together we decided to make a documentary film. In April 2017, we filmed in New York the first time, where Greenfield now lives and works. The team has been working together on the film for 4 years now, and even delays, such as the Corona pandemic, have not been able to take away our motivation. "The Presidents' Tailor Presidents' Tailor" to be completed.

We are all the more pleased that we will now be able to pitch the documentary at the DOK Leipzig Preview next week! The preview shows German films that are intended for an international audience. Some of the films are still in progress, others will celebrate their world premiere at the DOK Leipzig Competition. The Presidents' Tailor is also nearing completion and will soon be screened internationally at festivals.

Maxmilian Grünfeld spoke Yiddish, lived in Czechoslovakia, lost his family in the Nazi concentration camps and had no business experience. Martin Greenfield lives in Brooklyn, speaks English, tailors suits for US presidents and runs a bespoke clothing empire with clients and friends from high society. These include politicians and stars such as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Paul Newman, Colin Powell, Michael Bloomberg, Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. Even Batman fans are sure to have seen suits by Martin Greenfield Clothiers as, among other things, the red suit worn by the lead actor Joaquin Phoenix in Joker or also costumes of the series Gotham originate from the house of Greenfield. It is one and the same man who is now a 92-year-old fashion legend, tailor to US presidents and celebrities, and bon vivant of the city. In "The Presidents' Tailor", Martin Greenfield's son Jay tells the story of his father, who against all odds changed from Maxmilian Grünfeld to Martin Greenfield, and how he is now coming to terms with his own legacy.

We will of course publish further news and information of the documentary about Martin Greenfield via our News Section on Facebook or Instagram.
